Music of the Civil War Kickoff Event

June 7, 2024 | 6:45 PM | Baldwyn, MS

On the evening of Friday June 7th we will be hosting a Music of the Civil War Kickoff Event at the Blue August on Main Street Baldwyn to start an amazing weekend of historical fun and remembrance.

Doors will open at 6:45pm, music will begin around 7:00pm and we will go for a couple of hours after that. Pop in for 20 minutes or stay the entire night…All are welcome!

Any donation you can spare will get you in the door so don’t let cost deter you! Your donations allow us to continue to do innovative programming at the Battlefield and plan unique events like the Brice’s Crossroads Foundation’s Illumination on the evening of June 10th!

We will have raffle tickets for sale and will be calling winners all night for some great prizes. Light snacks and refreshments will also be available.

Jody Bevill of the BCF Board of Directors and BCF Member Kyle Jones will be playing some of the most famous, and maybe a few of the not so famous, tunes from the Civil War era along with some songs inspired by the War. Jody and Kyle have been entertaining Mississippians for over a decade as members of the rock band, The Whiskey Barrels.

Attendees are welcome to come learn, listen and sing along in a fun atmosphere in a local historic Main Street setting. Get excited with us for a fantastic weekend of Civil War fellowship June 7th-10th!
